STIR/SHAKEN implementation deadline arrives

The STIR/SHAKEN implementation deadline for small voice service providers and gateway providers has arrived.

The FCC Robocall Response Team reminded providers of the deadline in a news release.

We noticed an increase in the number of SHAKEN authorized service providers listed on the STI Policy Administrator website from 1,046 to 1,166, an 11% increase.

We saw a slight uptick in new robocall mitigation certifications in the Robocall Mitigation Database. However, we expect many providers might update their current filing rather than create a new one.

It will be interesting to see how increased participation impacts STIR/SHAKEN and robocall statistics in the near term.
