New Revenue Opportunities

Revenue growth is the most important challenge facing VoIP carriers today.  TransNexus enables carriers to expand their wholesale business with new services.

Innovative New Services

The TransNexus OSS/BSS solution has many feature rich routing, number translation and time of day/day of week functions that can be used to rapidly create new and innovative services such as:

  • 800 number, or free phone, services offer high wholesale gross margins.  In addition, 800 number services can be provisioned at the subscriber level for retail service offerings.

  • Subscriber "follow me" services.  Route calls to a subscriber's home, work or mobile based on who is calling and when.

  • Call Center Routing.  Distribute traffic to different call centers based on time of day and the prefix of the calling party.

  • Wholesale reselling of DID numbers.

  • SIP Trunking

Inter-Carrier Peering

Multi-lateral, peer to peer communications is replacing the conventional inter-carrier call scenario of routing calls through a class 4 tandem switch, softswitch, proxy or session border controller for managing interconnect traffic. The traditional VoIP architecture adds an an inefficient network choke point to control inter-carrier communications.  The solution wastes bandwidth, adds to post dial delay and requires more ingress and egress ports.  This is good for hardware vendors who sell more network equipment and bad for service providers.

The TransNexus OSS/BSS solution enables the inter-exchange carrier to provide direct peering among its VoIP customers.  The business model and interconnect agreements for inter-carrier services remain unchanged.  However, now the inter-exchange carrier's NexSRS server authorizes direct peering between VoIP networks on a call by call basis.  Call setup is direct from the source to the destination network.  A simpler call flow with no redundant signaling ports and wasted bandwidth gives the inter-exchange carrier a significant competitive advantage.  When the call is completed, both the source and destination networks report their CDRs to the NexSRS server which are used to compute a running total of inter-carrier settlement charges in near real time.  The TransNexus PeeringHouse platform provides a complete solution for VoIP clearing and settlement.

Multi-Currency Settlement Billing

TransNexus sets the standard for wholesale VoIP billing features.

  • Expand your service offering to a broader scope of customers.  Flexible credit controls that automatically disable or enable traffic from customers based their credit threshold and settlement account balance.  The feature includes flexible credit triggers which can be customized for each prepaid or postpaid customer.  With TransNexus OSS/BSS wholesale prepaid billing controls you can safely provide VoIP services to any carrier and eliminate bad debt risk.

  • The NexOSS Settlement Engine is the VoIP industry's leading multi-currency settlement platform.  Differentiate your business as the only carrier able to serve carrier customers in the currency of their choice and earn higher margins from your wholesale and large enterprise traffic.
