TransNexus and Veraz Networks offer Wholesale Carriers Increased Profits with Optimized VoIP Peering
Atlanta, Georgia (USA) –– May 23, 2005. TransNexus and Veraz Networks have announced production proven interoperability between Veraz’s industry leading packet telephony solution and TransNexus’s innovative Operations and Billing Support System (OSS/BSS) designed for multilateral VoIP peering. The combined solution provides inter-exchange carriers with a complete packet telephony solution optimized for secure, multilateral peering. The TransNexus OSS/BSS provides profit optimizing features such as Least Cost Routing, dynamic Quality of Service routing and wholesale Credit Controls. Secure access control for multi-lateral, inter-carrier peering is enforced by Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) features which are an integral part of the TransNexus solution. Traffic analysis and multi-currency settlement rating complete the suite of applications included in the TransNexus Operations and Billing Support System for wholesale VoIP carriers. “Primus has benefited directly from this integrated solution which increases our capacity to securely route traffic between our TDM network and our multi-lateral VoIP peering network with over 550 points of presence in 150 countries. This ability lowers our operating costs, and improves our network efficiency.” said Geoffrey K. Hicks, Senior Vice-President of Network Services and Technology for Primus Telecommunications, Inc. The seamless integration between the TransNexus and Veraz Networks solutions is enabled by the Open Settlement Protocol (OSP). OSP is an Operations and Billing Support System standard for VoIP transactions. The OSP standard (ETSI TS 101 321) is defined by the European Telecommunications Standard Institute (www.etsi.org).
