Low cost solution for interoperability between major H323 vendors

released by TransNexus, Inc.

Atlanta, Georgia (USA) –– On May 20, 2003, TransNexus, Inc.,  the leading provider of secure, and open IP interconnect solutions announced the commercial availability of its newest solution, NexTransitTM. NexTransitTM provides a policy server for secure authorization, routing and accounting of inter-domain VoIP traffic, while enabling interoperability between gateways and gatekeepers of major VoIP vendors. NexTransitTM consists of an OSP Nexus Server bundled with a signaling transit gateway running in a Linux environment.

Priced less than most commercially available gatekeepers, NexTransitTM provides a turnkey solution for managing internal VoIP routing and interconnecting diverse VoIP domains. The solution enables multi-vendor interoperability, a single route-provisioning platform, sophisticated routing algorithms and collection of usage information on a central platform.

Primus Telecommunications, Inc., a global telecommunications services provider offering an integrated portfolio of voice, data, Internet, and Web hosting services has been using the NexTransitTM platform to increase traffic throughout the world. John Melick, the Co-President of Primus Telecommunications said, "We were the first major service provider to realize and implement the benefits of the TransNexus OSP solution, and with the implementation of the NexTransitTM platform, we have continued to expand our VoIP traffic without increasing costs. With the implementation of NexTransitTM we have been able to interoperate with most major vendor’s VoIP gateways and gatekeepers deployed by our customers."

The NexTransitTM solution is targeted at all service providers seeking a low cost solution for managing their internal and external domain VoIP traffic. The solution costs about $.001 per minute on a volume as small as 5 million minutes per month with a one year pay back period. TransNexus solutions are deployed with major Tier 1 and Tier 2 carriers worldwide and managed over 3 billion VoIP minutes in 2002. TransNexus provides the VoIP service provider industry transparent, seamless IP services delivery with interworking among legacy and next-generation networks and technologies.
