TransNexus and RADVISION Offer Secure Authorization and Billing Solutions

for Developers of IP Communications Applications and Products

RADVISION Integrates Support for TransNexus’ Open Settlement Protocol (OSP) Client Into the RADVISION SIP and H.323 Protocol Toolkits

Atlanta, Georgia and Mahwah, NJ, April 4, 2002 --  TransNexus Inc, a leading provider of standards-based IP InterExchange solutions and RADVISION (NASDAQ: RVSN), the source of award winning, industry-standard products and technology for real-time voice and video communication over IP (V2oIP™), are teaming to offer Open Settlement Protocol (OSP) solutions for developers of SIP and H.323 applications and products. RADVISION currently supports TransNexus’ OSP client in the RADVISION H.323 and H.323 Gatekeeper Toolkit and will be adding the support to the SIP Toolkit in Q4 2002.

RADVISION, the leading provider of enabling technologies for accelerating the development of IP telephony now offers VoIP vendors access to development toolkits enabled with TransNexus’ OSP services. OSP enables highly secure call routing, authentication, and usage reporting of IP telephony services among inter-domain IP networks for any type of communications that can be metered or billed.

“For IP communications to be generating revenue for service providers, it is imperative that there is an industry standard for monitoring and billing IP traffic,” said Jim Dalton, chief executive officer  of TransNexus. “OSP is the most widely deployed standard today and fills a clear need in the market.”

Service Providers such as AT&T and PRIMUS Telecommunications are already leveraging OSP to generate new revenue and lower the cost of doing business:

“The OSP standard is the best technology for efficient, secure management of inter-carrier H.323 and SIP VoIP traffic,” said David YH Wong, Product Director of AT&T Global Clearinghouse. “RADVISION's implementation of OSP will help enable simple, ubiquitous interconnection among all VoIP carriers.”

"OSP has enabled our company to provide an expanded portfolio of competitively priced services through IP technology while minimizing the investments required in international fiber optic cable facilities, circuit switches, and other costly network equipment associated with the expansion of a traditional circuit switched network,” John Melick, co-president of PRIMUS Telecommunications, Inc. “As an open standard, OSP allows us to operate in a multi-vendor environment and RADVISION’s support of OSP will add momentum to the current development trends in this arena.”

OSP is a European Telecommunications Standards Institute (www.etsi.org) supporting SIP, H.323 and MGCP/MEGACO to minimize inter-carrier service-provisioning overheads and expand geographical service coverage through other IP Telephony Service Providers domains. OSP is the de-facto standard for secured and dynamic inter-carrier settlement solutions between carriers using IP networks. OSP can authenticate network elements, authorize telephony traffic and centrally collect usage information for any IP communication event, and as such provides a single platform to accommodate clearing and settlement for future IP services.

“We are committed to providing the most robust and feature-rich development tools to our customers,” said Boaz Raviv, general manager of the Technology Business Unit, RADVISION. “By implementing OSP in RADVISION’s SIP and H.323 toolkits, vendors can create IP communications applications and products that incorporate monitoring and billing capabilities in compliance with the OSP standard specifically targeted at the service provider market.”

The TransNexus OSP NexusTM Server provides a simple, easy to manage solution for service providers who want to build and operate VoIP clearinghouse operations in-house and require six-sigma, carrier-grade clearinghouse inter-domain authentication, routing (brokering), and call detail record collection.
