MediaRing and TransNexus Announce Global Strategic Partnership

Partnership broadens MediaRing’s market reach in US and provides interconnect functionality to Open Settlement Protocol -based solutions for telecommunication carriers..

Singapore, May 23. 2002 –MediaRing (SGX: MRNG) today announced its global strategic partnership with US-based TransNexus Inc, a leading provider of standards-based IP inter-exchange solutions.

MediaRing’s activities in the US telecommunication market moves up a gear with this cross-marketing agreement with TransNexus, who will act as a reseller for MediaRing’s flagship VoizBridge 3.1 secure interconnect solution to its existing and new telco customers. MediaRing and TransNexus will also jointly deliver an OSP Partnership Program for Asian telecommunications market.

Open Settlement Protocol (OSP) is a client-server protocol that enables secure authorization, routing (brokering) and billing for any type of IP communications session that can be metered and billed, including voice, fax, video, and content-based communications. Currently, equipment vendors supporting OSP include 3Com, Alcatel, Cisco, ECI, Ericsson, Lucent, Nuera, POP-Star and Radvision.

MediaRing VoizBridge 3.1 extends the use of OSP-based solutions in carrier environments through the facilitation of secure interconnectivity with non-OSP based carrier networks. This delivers increased flexibilities for service providers to work with multiple partners regardless of their network setup, whilst maintaining high call quality, billing and metering, and ease of network management.

“This partnership brings together a synergy in technology and market reach for both companies,” said Mr. Walter Sousa, Executive Chairman of MediaRing Ltd. “VoizBridge 3.1 fills the need of operators to work with multiple partners, which is today exacerbated by the lack of capable solutions to interconnect and exchange VoIP traffic seamlessly and efficiently.”

"As business strategies continue to depend on IP telephony, the ubiquitous adoption of open, international standards is essential," stated Jim Dalton, TransNexus President and CEO. "With this partnership, TransNexus and MediaRing are committed to bringing best-of-breed interoperability solutions to the market. The secure interconnect functionality in VoizBridge lends unparalleled flexibilities for equipment vendors and carrier end-users alike in their adoption of OSP-based solutions."
